Isabelle M. ‘Toots’ Miller – Monongahela

Isabelle M. “Toots” Miller, 91, of Monongahela, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, in Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills. She was born Jan. 15, 1931, in Ohiopyle, daughter of Charles Franklin and Maggie Potter Teets. Isabelle was a graduate of Ohiopyle High School. Later in life, she enrolled in CCAC South and earned her teaching degree in elementary education. She taught at South Hills Christian School in Finleyville for several years and then became a substitute teacher for the Ringgold School District and at the former Transfiguration Catholic School in Monongahela. She later worked as an aide at The Respite Center in Monessen until its closing. Isabelle was Protestant by faith. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time and loved watching “The Price is Right” and “Beat Bobby Flay” on the Food Network. She is survived by her daughter, Kim Lantz of Belle Vernon; son, Daryl Miller and wife Danna of Monongahela; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Miller; son, Donald A. Miller; and daughter, Susan Robb. Isabelle was the last of her immediate family. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2023, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2023, with the Rev. Jack Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. Memorial contributions may be made to Frye Funeral Home Inc., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Anova Healthcare Services for the special care they gave to Isabelle.
