James G. Nahas Jr., 88, of Carroll Township, passed away on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at home. He was born on May 1, 1934, in Charle- roi, the son of the late James and Victoria Nahas. He was a member of Epiphany of our Lord Church, Charleroi-Monongahela Masons Lodge No. 337 and the YMCA. He was a 1952 graduate of Charleroi High School and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from California Teachers College. He was a retired teacher from Baldwin Whitehall High School, where he ran the math department. He served his country and was a United States Army veteran. Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Helen Giovagnorio Nahas; three daughters, Lori Nahas of Charleroi, Pamela (Ivan) Schrank of Monroeville and Cindy (Mark) Pellis of Bethel Park; sister, Lillian Nard of Cleveland; six grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Schrank; brother, Richard Nahas; and three sisters, Selma Nahas, Jeanette Haddad and Elaine Gnora. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen. Services will be held Friday beginning with a blessing service at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass at noon at Epiphany of our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Epiphany of our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, PA 15062.
