‘Shop Through the Arts’ set for Saturday in Monongahela

The Monongahela Main Street Program invites residents and visitors to experience the creativity, charm and community spirit of historic downtown Monongahela during the Shop Through the Arts street event set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
For this special event, Main Street will be closed from First Street to Third Street, creating a vibrant outdoor marketplace where talented artists will showcase their unique handmade creations.
Visitors will have the opportunity to browse and purchase a wide variety of artistic works, including canvas art, metalwork, watercolors, glass, woodworking and textile creations.
In addition to the diverse array of artists, visitors can explore Monongahela’s unique downtown businesses, featuring specialty boutiques, antique treasures, gifts, home décor and locally owned shops that make Main Street a vibrant shopping experience. Relax and stay for dinner and dessert at local dining establishments.
To accommodate the event, traffic will be detoured onto Railroad Street. Attendees are encouraged to take advantage of the ample off-street parking available on Railroad Street and Chess Street. Convenient transportation is also available through Mid Mon Valley Transit, providing easy access to downtown.
A selection of vendors will be on-site throughout the day, offering food and refreshments for visitors as they enjoy the event.

The Monongahela Main Street Program is part of a nationally recognized organization that provides a comprehensive, community- driven framework designed to revitalize historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts.
Through preservation, economic development, and community engagement, the program works to strengthen and celebrate the heart of Monongahela.
