John E. Kavulick – Dawson

By obits

John E. Kavulick, 61, of Dawson, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, in Allegheny Gen-eral Hospital after complications of open-heart surgery. He was born March 26, 1961, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Andrew C. and Loretta L. Lisbon Kavulick. A graduate of Frazier High School, he was an excellent mechanic. His passions included the Oliver tractors that he collected and his unmatched knowledge of the Oliver Corporation. He loved fishing, hunting, camping and was proud to use his vintage Coleman lanterns and equipment. Relaxed, he walked many miles searching for arrowheads, the battlefield of Gettysburg discovering family ties to the Civil War and on his favorite beach at St. Petersburg, Fla. He loved the pets of his youth, the boxer dogs by his side and appreciated and loved all animals. The outdoors always called him. He adored his family and is survived by his partner of 13 years, Kimberly Kerr Gillbert; a daughter, Jessica Moldovan; granddaughter, Layna and Mike Wittensoldner of Canal Fulton, Ohio; a son, John E. Kavulick (Kaitlin) of Dawson; grandson, John Everett Kavulick Jr.; step-grandchildren, Brayden, Avah, Nikolia, and Stephen Ryan (Liz) of Ohio; and their children, Sullivan, Maggie, Veda and Reddington. He is also survived by a brother, Andrew Kavulick; and sisters, Louella L. (Kavulick) Bujanowski and Patsy (Kavulick) Savol; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ansen C. Kavulick; sister, Linda L. (Kavulick) Walters; and a niece, Tammi Jo Black. Per John’s wishes, there will be no visitation, and a memorial service is planned in the future. “Love You Too” Rest Peacefully. Arrangements handled by L. L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME, INC., Smithton.
