Josephine Brody, 99, of Donora, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital in Carroll Township. She was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Donora, the daughter of the late Cesidio DiNatale and the late Christina Bianchi DiNatale. She was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church. Josephine was a beautician and owner-operator of DiNatale Beauty Shop, which she opened in 1943. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Brody; a sister, Lillian Gilotty; and a brother, Raymond DiNatale. Surviving to cherish her memory are her two sons, Dr. Mark George Brody and his wife Suzanne of Jefferson Hills, and James Joseph Brody and his wife Gayle of Jeannette; a daughter, Christine Holt and husband Thomas of Seattle, Wash; eight grandchildren, Shannon (Jonathan) Cohen, David Brody, Jennifer Brody, Rachel (Philip) Silves, Matthew Holt, Rebecca (Scott) Burford, Cristopher Brody and Nicole Brody; five great-grandchildren, Joseff James, Katheryn, Aaron, Noah and Violet; and a sister, Anita Bibby of Texas. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, where a private family visitation was held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday Dec. 3, 2022, followed by a noon funeral liturgy in St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church.
