Raymond A. Giambattista, 74, of Fayette City, passed away on Nov. 28, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ray was born on Aug. 21, 1948, to Michael and Mary Battista in Ridgway, Pa. After graduating from Bellmar High School in 1966, Ray attended the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. Supporting the draft effort for the Vietnam War, Ray bravely served his country from 1968-69 as a helicopter crew chief and door gunner.  After years of owning and driving his own tri-axle truck, Ray ascended to president and co-owner of Rischitelli Brothers Trucking for many years before retiring in 2014. Ray enjoyed rides on his Harley-Davidson, playing golf with his buddies and diving into his grandkids’ activities, including basketball and horseback riding. Ray was preceded in death by both parents as well as a daughter, Dawn Marie. Surviving are his devoted wife, Linda, with whom he recently celebrated 46 years of marriage. Also surviving to cherish his memory are his son, David Vannucci and wife Jeanine; daughter, Dana Vannucci; and daughter, Rae-Lynn Guseman and husband George. Ray is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Dylan, Lauren, Alyx, Teddy, Logan, Madison, Malayna, Nevaeh and Geo; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Nina and Ezra. Ray is also survived by siblings, Lynn Sickles, Michael Giambattista and Cindy Cuthbert. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at Christian Center Church, 130 Charity Lane, Rostraver Township. Funeral services will be in the church at 10 a.m. Friday with Pastor Tim Burgan officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
