The deadline to order a veterans banner in Charleroi has been moved up.
Councilwoman Nancy Ellis, who is is organizing the effort to replace the banners lining the borough’s streets, started the Hometown Heroes Banner Committee to kickstart the program in 2016.
There were more than 250 banners lining McKean and Fallowfield avenues when the program started, but there are now only about 30 that are currently in good enough shape to be put back up in time for Veterans Day.
Any family who has purchased a banner through the program and would like to keep it can contact Ellis to arrange a pick up.
