Elizabeth Forward turned two turnovers into goals to defeat Connellsville, 4-0, Wednesday night at Connellsville Stadium in Section 2-AAA play.
The Warriors move to 10-0-1 in section play and 11-1-1 overall while the Falcons fall to 6-6 in league play and 6-9 overall.
Elizabeth Forward sits atop the section standings while Connellsville is in a battle with Laurel Highlands and Belle Vernon for the fourth and final playoff berth.
The Falcons and Warriors played to a scoreless first half, as Connellsville senior keeper Bailey Traynor made a leaping save on Elizabeth Forward’s Brooklyn Baldensperger at 20:30 of the first half. Traynor made two more saves in the first.
The Falcons had one shot on target in the first 40 minutes, but Warrior keeper Emma Durant made the save.
Elizabeth Forward had several strong runs in the first half, but Connellsville junior defender Emma Tikey cleared the ball from danger.
