Frank L. McLaughlin, 87, of New Eagle, died unexpectedly, Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022. He was born Feb. 16, 1935, in New Eagle, the son of Blaine G. and Dorothy Lonkoski McLaughlin. Frank was a member of First Christian Church in Monongahela. He retired from the former Hercules (Ireco) Inc. in Donora, with over 30 years of employment. After retirement, Frank and his wife, Peggy, spent 21 years as snowbirds traveling to Florida. He loved boating, fishing, and being on the river in both Florida and Pennsylvania. He enjoyed participating in rodeos in South Park and Western Pennsylvania, especially bull riding, bareback riding and Conestoga wagon racing. He was also a huge collector of Wile E. Coyote memorabilia. Frank was a family-oriented man and will be truly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Peggy A. McLaughlin, with whom he celebrated 68 years of marriage on March 15, 2022; daughter, Debbie Axton of Monongahela; son, Frank McLaughlin Jr. of New Castle; four grandchildren, Brandi Axton, Lauri Mosley, Frank R. (Pam) McLaughlin and Brooke (Brian) McLaughlin; three great-grandchildren, Brody and Laney Susick and Hayden Scheidemantle; and a sister-in-law, Donna McLaughlin of Charleroi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Larry Axton; and brother, Blaine McLaughlin. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, with the Rev. Janet Scott-Mace officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
