Betty Jean See Cain, 85, of Monongahela, Forward Township, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2022, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. Born on Sept. 3, 1936, in Louisa, Ky., she was the daughter of Hansel and Rose Marie Sowa See. A homemaker, Betty was a born-again Christian and dedicated her life to the Lord and spreading his word. She was a member of Bible Baptist Temple in Jefferson Hills and always enjoyed her walks, camping with her husband in Laurel State Park, bus trips to Atlantic City with her friends and sister, and reading, baking and especially going to Kennywood, where she had found memories of her childhood. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Betty is survived by her husband of 71 years, Russell R. Cain; a son, Russel B. Cain of Elizabeth; a daughter, Cheryl L. (David) Fernandez of Monongahela; a brother, Robert H. See of Somerset; a sister, Nancy C. Sloan (Allen) of West Mifflin; two granddaughters whom she raised, Shayna L. Cain of Monongahela and Amanda R. Cain of Forward Township; her beloved grandson, Roman A. Pietroboni; along with many loved nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was a brother, James F. See. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2022, with the Rev. Donald Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. Condolences can be made online at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
