By the MVI
Members of the West Jefferson Hills School District honored one of their beloved retired educators and community leaders.
Superintendent Dr. Janet Sardon and West Jefferson Hills School District staff honored Louise Biddle, who has served the West Elizabeth, Jefferson Hills and Pleasant Hills communities for the vast majority of her 98 years.
Sardon and the WJHSD staff recognized Biddle on Wednesday at Thomas Jefferson High School to begin the district’s all-staff opening days. Classes for WJH students begin Monday. Biddle was hired in 1947 and taught second grade for 38 years at the old Roosevelt School in Large in the former Jefferson Township School District (now WJHSD), retiring in the mid-80s.
