Melba Luverne Latkanich, 84, of Foley, Ala., died Monday, July 25, 2022, in her residence with her son by her side. Born in Brenton, Ala., on Aug. 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Richard Dennis and Ola Mae Weaver Lindsey. She was a graduate of Robertsdale High School. She retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy in Orange Beach, Ala. She was Orthodox by faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas; and a brother, Claude. She is survived by a son and daughter, Douglas P. Latkanich II of Foley, Ala., and Michele Vingas of Monessen; five grandsons, Anthony (Amanda) Vingas, Nicholas (Rebecca) Vingas, Joseph Vingas, Douglas P. III (Emily) Latkanich and Dominic Latkanich; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Virgil and Vernon; two sisters, Margaret and Eunice; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Latkanich of Monessen. Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen, www.billicksfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Very Rev. Father Constantine Curchin officiating interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
