Ruth Matz – Coal Center

Ruth Matz, 67, of Coal Center, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh. Born in North Charleroi on Oct. 20, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Dorothy Downer Sezawich. Ruth was Pentecostal by faith. She was the main cook of the family, always feeding her loved ones. Ruth is survived by her three children, Michelle (John) Tomalski, Nicholas Matz III and his girlfriend Angela Rabatin, and Mary (Billie Jo) Matz; three grandchildren, Collin, Noah and Seth; two sisters, Madeline Rice and Christine Dankle; and two brothers, Matthew Sezawich and William (Patty) Sezawich. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2022, at MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. Funeral services will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Candace Cook presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a memorial donation in her name to St. Jude’s Hospital.
