George H. Rue Jr. – Belle Vernon
George H. Rue Jr., 70, of Belle Vernon, passed away April 21, 2022, after a short battle with cancer. George was born on Feb. 1, 1952, in Pittsburgh to George H. Rue Sr. and Stephanie Zupanc Rue, who preceded him in death. George was a 1970 graduate of Belle Vernon School District. George served as a jet engine mechanic and sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, he became a chemical operator at Dyno Nobel in Donora and remained there until his retirement in 2006. George’s passion was hunting and riding on his motorcycle. He was a member of American Legion Post 484 in Fayette City and was an active Legion Rider. George was Roman Catholic by faith. George is survived by his daughters, Georgette McGavitt of Belle Vernon and Amanda Rue of Fayette City; grandson, Zander McGavitt; son-in-law, James McGavitt Jr. of Rostraver Township; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Darla Malys of Coal Center; and best friend, John McFall of Carroll Township. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Rue, on Oct. 14, 2016; and a brother, Gerald Rue in 1991. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-9296183, followed by funeral services at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
