Paul T. “Fred” Figel Jr., 70, of Monessen, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 17, 1952, in Charleroi to the late Paul and Rita Lyall Figel Sr. He was a graduate of Monessen High School, Class of 1970. He retired from the Monessen coke plant and continued to stay busy with his many handyman projects. Fred was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed boating and fishing at his beach house in Newell. Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn Bergstedt Figel; son, Paul T. Figel III; sisters, Patricia A. Artim and Jacquelyn M. Newman; his loving dog, “Morgan”; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, with Pastor Sandy Fitzgibbons officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Monessen.
