A private visitation and funeral services were held Monday, March 14, 2022, for Robert S. Ehko, 98, of Fallowfield Township, who died Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Penn Highland Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Charleroi on Oct. 18, 1923, son of the late Andrew and Ada Saccani Ehko. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific as a pilot and then on a carrier. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport, and in his later years worked as a security guard for Gregg Security. Robert was a member of the Lions Club. He loved fishing, hunting, sports and gardening. He enjoyed dancing, going to country western concerts with his wife and spending time with his family. He was always one to give good advice and lend a hand when needed. A member of Christ Lutheran Church in Charleroi, he always volunteered to be an usher. Robert is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Arlene Rhodes Ehko; two daughters, Kim (Dennis) Nagy and Karen Ehko; son, Stephen Ehko; a sister, Olive Pulaski; two sister-in-law, Gerri Ehko and Laura Lee Pascoe; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Fred; a sister, Janet McGowan; sister-in-law, Stashia Ehko; and brothers-in-law, William Pulaski, Willis McGowan and Robert Rhodes. He will be greatly missed by his family. Interment was at Mon Valley Memorial Park. Memorials in Robert’s memory may be made to the Lions Club or a charity of one’s choice.
