Lawrence V. Walsh, 86, of Monongahela, Carroll Township, passed away in his home on Feb. 19, 2022. He was born in West Brownsville, on April 22, 1935, son of the late Joseph M. and Esther Kerr Walsh. Larry graduated in 1953 from Monongahela High School and spent the next 10 years in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He spent over 25 years as a buyer for U.S. Steel Corp. in Pittsburgh until his retirement. An active member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Monongahela, he always enjoyed helping with their donut sales and was a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2600. He loved playing golf with his friends and was a former member of the Neighborhood Boys Club, the Monongahela Elks and the Russian Club in Monongahela. Larry is survived by his wife, Gloria G. Guydan Walsh, whom he married April 19, 1958; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis P. and Kathy Walsh of Philadelphia; two daughters and a son-in-law, Laureen and Robert Werkin and Cindy Walsh, all of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Jason (Danelle) Werkin, Brittany (Ben) Diebold, Sean (Rachael) Walsh and Connor Walsh; and four great-grandchildren, Greyson and Gavin Werkin and Noah Diebold and Owen Walsh. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack K. Walsh. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2022, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, Monongahela, 724-258-6767. Blessing prayers will begin in the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela. Interment will take place in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Monongahela Area Library, 813 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063.
