Dominick A. Pesognelli – Monongahela

Funeral services were held for Dominick A. Pesognelli, 99, of Monongahela, who passed away on Feb.11, 2022, peacefully in his home. Born in Cokeburg on June 25, 1922, he was the son of the late Antonio and Margaret Do Pesognelli. After graduating from Monongahela High School in 1940, Dominick enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a medic. After returning home, he began working as an electrician at the former Donora Mill until its closing and then as a foreman at the former Lee Norse Co. in Charleroi until his retirement. He was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (St. Anthony Church), where he served as an usher for many years, and he enjoyed playing tennis with friends. He is survived by two sons, Anthony L. “Tony” Pesognelli and Dominick A. (DeAnne) Pesognelli Jr. of Monongahela; a daughter and son-in-law, Jill M. (Charles) Majetich of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Dr. Deidre (Sean) O’Dell, Raquel and husband Dr. Phil Jeanmenne, Anthony (Tammi) Pesognelli, Gabrielle (Ryan) Hardgrove, Analiese Majetich and Gina Armstrong; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gilda Altobelli Pesognelli, who passed away June 5, 1999; two brothers, Frank and Jack Pesognelli; and a sister, Angelina Stefani.
