Brian Kovalak
Brian Kovalak, age 62, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at St. Clair Memorial Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born Feb. 15, 1959, in North Charleroi, the son of the late William Kovalak and the late Mary Ellen Bliner Kovalak. Brian was gifted in math and sciences, holding a Master of Science degree in Chemistry. He had a kind heart and a gentle spirit, with a desire to always help others. He made donations to charity and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a member of the St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Donora. Surviving to cherish his memory are his sister, Judith A. Kovalak; and a brother, Barry Kovalak. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anthony L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, followed by a funeral lilturgy in St. Michael Byzantine Rite Catholic Church at noon with the Rev. Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela.
