‘Alice in Wonderland Jr.’ to be staged at the Grand Theatre

Mon River Arts will present the classic musical, “Alice in Wonderland Jr.” this weekend at the Grand Theatre in Elizabeth.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Order tickets online at monriverarts. org or call 412-4058425 The story of “Alice in Wonderland Jr.” finds young Alice in a strange world where everything seems upside down, and she must find her way home — and find herself along the way.

As she travels through Wonderland, she encounters all of the iconic characters that audiences have come to love, including the ever-tardy White Rabbit, the grinning Cheshire Cat, a cool Caterpillar, the wacky Mad Hatter, and the hot-tempered Queen of Hearts.

Alice in Wonderland Jr. features Disney favorites such as “The Golden Afternoon,” “The Unbirthday Song” and “Painting the Roses Red” along with brand-new songs, including music from the 2010 live-action film. “Alice in Wonderland Jr.” runs approximately 90 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.

The musical is directed by Sierra Mitchell, assistant director Samantha Mitchell, vocal director Liz Chatterson, choreographer Christine Pittman, and stage manager Abbi Ross.
