Irene P. ‘Dolly’ Haluchak Leach – Monongahela
Irene P. “Dolly” Haluchak Leach, 91, of Monongahela, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Born Nov. 24, 1930, in Charleroi, she resided in the Valley her entire life and was the daughter of Harry and Mary Woytovich Haluchak. A 1948 graduate of Charleroi High School, Dolly loved to travel, flowers and spending time with her family. A faithful member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish (St. Anthony Church) in Monongahela, she belonged to its Altar Rosary Christian Mother Society and the Ladies of Charity. She was a former member of the Monongahela Woman’s Club and had served on the board of the Mon Valley YMCA. Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Regis J. Leach Jr., whom she married Oct. 6, 1951; three sons and daughters-in-law, Regis III and Annette Leach, John and Diane Leach and Mark and Doretta Leach, all of Monongahela; five daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Steven Bogdan of Monongahela, Linda and John Wohar of California, Pa., Kathy and Michael Wyland of Monongahela, Nancy Markovich-Makenzie (Carl) and Judy and Philip Arrigo of Clinton; a sister, Dolores “Mitzy” Maksematz of North Charleroi; 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Irene Haluchak of Speers; along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her six brothers, Michael, Simon, Theodore, John, Nick and Adam Haluchak; and two sisters, Florence Sowden and Julia Kook; and a son-in-law, Dr. Joseph Markovich. Friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021. Blessing prayers will be held in the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, followed by a Mass of Christian burial beginning at noon at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Monongahela campus. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. A special thanks to her husband, her family and especially grateful to her caregiver, Sherri Vogel and Hospice.
