Virginia Louise Miller Henson – Monongahela

By obits

Virginia Louise Miller Henson, 77, a grateful transplant survivor for more than 10 years, passed away peacefully early on Saturday morning, Nov. 27, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, surrounded and comforted by those who loved her. Born to Albert and Shirley Weber Miller on July, 5, 1944, in New Eagle, Virginia spent her childhood in a home her father built in the Valley Inn area of Monongahela. She graduated from Monongahela High School in 1962, and soon after moved with her family to New Jersey. Fatefully, she reunited with her high school sweetheart, George “Jack” Henson, the love of her life, got married and moved back to Monongahela to start a family. Over the course of the next 54 years, while helping run a successful family cleaning business, she raised her four children and touched the lives of all that knew her. Virginia was a gracious soul, a lover of music, a lover of laughter, a lover of family and a consummate caretaker. She enjoyed camping with her friends and family, reading books late into the night and conversing at the kitchen counter with a strong cup of coffee. Her absence will undoubtedly be felt within the family home she helped build, but her presence will continue to fill up the hearts and minds of those who love and hold her dear. Surviving are her loving husband, Jack; her four boys, Scott (Lisa), Shawn, Rocky (Tammy) and Ryan Henson; her brother, Dennis Miller; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many other friends, family and pets. A small, private, family-only service was held in the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to the National Foundation for Transplants, the American Transplant Foundation or the American Lung Association. Condolences for Virginia can be made at marshallmarrafuneralhome.com.
