Errors led to last minute Monessen budget revisions

Monessen Council met Tuesday in a special meeting held purportedly to hold the first reading of the 2022 budget on the last day it could be done but Mayor Matt Shorraw also presented a four-page agenda of other items. Shorraw claimed the items were all time sensitive and the meeting was advertised as involving “other items that may come before council,” but Solicitor Tim Witt said he would not advise such a long agenda for special meeting purposes.
