Michael Capco – Monessen, formerly of Gillespie
Michael Capco, 90, of Monessen, formerly of Gillespie, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at his home. Born Nov. 24, 1930, in Monessen, he was the son of the late George and Sofia Sedor Capco. A lifelong resident of the Mon Valley, Mr. Capco was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, where he also served as a Eucharistic minister for the homebound. Michael was a retired timekeeper from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, was a member of Monessen Knights of Columbus, Monessen Elks Lodge 773, Naomi Club, Gillespie Slovak Club, was a founding member and past treasurer for St. Vincent de Paul Society in Monessen and served as a board member and loan officer at Valley 1st Community Federal Credit Union. He is survived by his significant other, Kathleen Hutchison; three children, Michael G. and Constance Capco of Largo, Fla., Carol and Anthony Cintron of Belle Vernon, and Thomas and Laura Capco of Rostraver Township; son-in-law, Ronald Raymond of North Belle Vernon; six grandchildren, Ashley (Kevin) Coup, Dustin Capco, Jason Capco, Zachary Capco, Mackenzie Capco and Aubrey Cintron; and two great-grandchildren, Owen and Theo Coup. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen J. Stepp Capco; daughter, Susan M. Raymond; brother George Capco; and three sisters, Sue Shuma, Ann Johnson and Mary Silvania. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Prayers of transfer will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston as celebrant.
