Donald Wesley Calloway – Monongahela
OBITUARY CORRECTION
Donald W. Calloway was born in Charleroi/Monessen Hospital, Charleroi, the first-born child of his parents, Anna Mae Woods Calloway and Samuel Wesley Calloway. He was followed by two brothers, David and Samuel; and one sister, Crystal. Donald passed away on Oct. 15, 2021. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church in Brownsville, where he, his mother, brothers and sister were each baptized by the Rev. William B. Richardson. Donald graduated from Brownsville High School, moved to Pittsburgh and joined the Job Corps, where he met his future wife, Carla. Donald was married to his wife Carla in 1977, by the Rev. William Richardson and two years later filled his mother’s heart with great joy when he presented her with her first grandchild, his son, Jason Aaron Calloway. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna Mae Woods Calloway and Samuel Wesley Calloway; maternal grandparents, Ruth Mae and Jake Woods; paternal grandparents, Ruth and Simeon Calloway; uncles, Dock Lee Woods, Raymond “Ike” Maurice Crable Sr., Homer and his wife Geraldine Woods; aunts, Mary Lee Woods and Rachel Calloway; cousin, Raymond “Ike” Maurice Crable Jr.; sister-in-law, Warnella Smalls Calloway; and late friend, Howard Wolkowicz. Donald is survived to cherish his memory by brothers, David Leon Calloway of Pittsburgh, Samuel Earl Calloway of Austin, Texas; sister, Crystal of California, Pa.; his son, Jason Aaron Calloway of Pittsburgh; aunts: Mary E. Woods Crable Patrick of Charleroi, Willie Mae Floyd of Monessen; uncles, Herman Thomas Woods of Lorton, Va.; the Rev. Thomas “Tennie” Floyd of Monessen; cousins, Cheryl Crable and daughter Fatina Crable of Mo.; Kevin Crable of Minn., the Rev. Renita L. Crable of Charleroi; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins; a special friend, Trudy Taylor, an endeared close friend of the family; friends, Kimberly Morris of Donora and Marta Wolkowicz-Brant of Monongahela. To all that want to pay condolences to the family, viewing will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2021 and a 11 a.m. service on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the WILLIAM R.
