Diana R. Fedorchak, 75, died May 27, in San Anselmo, Calif., where she had resided for the past 50 years. She was born in Monongahela to the late Michael and Anna Kozon Fedorchak. She is survived by her sister, Doris Spesak of Monongahela; brothers, Ronald (Sally) of Austin, Texas, and Thomas (Linda) of Leechburg; nephews, Alan Spesak (Josephine), Michael Fedorchak and Venjo Tormis; nieces, Sharon Spesak, Rachelle Siemes (Marc), Cheryl Fedorchak (Carl) and Shaun Che Tormis; and great-nieces, Julianna Kahtib, Katherine Siemes, Calia Valletta and Leilani Simmons. Diana was a graduate of Mon Valley Catholic High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society and editor of the yearbook. She received her bachelor of arts degree at Seton Hill College in Greensburg and her master’s at the American School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, Calif. Prior to moving to the state of California, she worked as a technical writer at the University of Pittsburgh when it was computerizing its library. In 1970, she joined Bank of America and in 1972, was promoted to vice president for public relations. As her interest in medicine and psychology increased, she left the bank and joined a team of medical researchers as an editorial assistant, preparing proposals for grants. She was a member of the San Francisco Bay Area Publicity Club, volunteer at the Marin County, Calif., Suicide Prevention Center and deputy coroner and volunteer for the San Francisco General Hospital Trauma Center. She was also an accomplished painter and an avid reader. Through all these activities she dealt with the increasing daily struggles of debilitating multiple sclerosis with exceptional determination and humor. Father Kevin Dominik will officiate a memorial service at the Mon Valley Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made in Diana’s name to charity of the donor’s choice.
