Rostraver considering police officer residency requirement changes

The Rostraver Township Commissioners are considering changes to the hiring policy, which would permit police officers to live outside of the township.
At present, all officers must either live in the township or move into the township before the end of their probationary period. Members of the Civil Service Commission and the acting police chief have asked for candidates to be considered from outside the township because it is becoming difficult to fill positions.
