Michael S. Cocchiara, 70, of Long Branch, passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, 2021, at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth with his family by his side. Born on Oct. 12, 1950, Mike is the son of the late Joseph Cocchiara and Margaret Zurek (deceased William) Kresho. Mike belonged to the Charleroi Slovak Club, Charleroi Russian Club, Fairhope Rod & Gun Club and was the proud founder of the Local Street Lordz C.C. (classic car club) His true passion was classic cars, particularly his aqua blue 1929 Ford Roadster that he enjoyed taking to car shows and car cruises. When Mike wasn’t cruising in his roadster, he enjoyed fishing, working in his garage on his mini-bikes, his coin collection or relaxing at the Cozy Nook with his friends. Surviving to cherish Mike’s memory are his sister, Adele Gregory Pandrock; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Mary Jayne Radacy Cocchiara; and his brother, Jimmy Jo Cocchiara. Friends and family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017, where interment will follow.
