Fred M. Yowonske – Charleroi

Fred M. Yowonske, 75, of Charleroi, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021. A son of the late Alex and Marie Steele Yowonske, he was born in North Charleroi, on March 24, 1946. A lifelong resident of Charleroi, Fred enjoyed visiting with cousins, going out to eat, gardening, going to car shows, cash bashes and going to his monthly retiree meetings. He always enjoyed having a pet in the house and his last pet was a rescue dog. Fred retired in 1999 after 33 years at USX, Clairton Works. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ron and Christeen Yowonske and Randie Yowonske, all of Charleroi; three grandchildren, Ashley, Jarrod and Brianna; one sister, Gloria Stoltzfus of Gap, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with Pastor John Custer officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
