Struggles at the line hinder Lee Supply in loss to State Farm

Lee Supply has started making strides in the Mon Valley Independent Summer Basketball League’s girls division.

Coming off their best game to date last week, Lee Supply started the second half of the season against Dax Thomas State Farm Monday.

Lee Supply continued to improve in most aspects of play; however, struggles at the free throw line showed up Monday as they made just 12 of 25 and suffered a 59-53 loss to State Farm.

Emma Seto paced Dax Thomas State Farm with a double-double of 15 points and 10 boards. Chloe Pordash added 11 points and Erica Hall chipped in 10.

Dax Thomas (4-2) is known as a defensive team. However, that defense failed State Farm for the second straight game and allowed Lee Supply to stay close all night.

“Through the first half of the season, our defense was pretty good. We were winning games and holding teams to 30-40 points,” head coach Tom Rodriguez said. “It’s really not good for us when we start giving up 50-plus points.”
