Phyllis I. Crompton — Monongahela (Gallatin)
Phyllis I. Crompton, 89, of Monongahela (Gallatin), died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in her home. Born April 5, 1932, in West Elizabeth, she was the daughter of George and Anna (Williams) Thomas. A member of First Baptist Church in Monongahela, Phyllis retired in 1995 as a receptionist for the Frank Irey Construction Company and then worked for several more years for Cox’s Market in Monongahela. She always enjoyed crafting and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and Rose Ellen Crompton of Finleyville and Fred and Tracey Crompton of Eighty Four; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Steve Cox of Monongahela and Nancy and Bob Lee of Franklin, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Chad (Lauren) Crompton, Eric (Katie) Crompton, Amber (Ryan) Brucker, Josh (Gina) Cox, Shane (Kate) Cox, Kaitlyn (Rob) Roth, Bobby (Amber) Lee and Adrienne Lee Constantine; 14 great-grandchildren, Coltin (Rebecca), Raelyn, Jordan, Ryder, Maddox, Eliza, Caleb, Isaac, Maddie, Katherine, Kase, Lilyanna, Mason and Mac. Preceding her in death was her husband, Fred Crompton Jr., who died May 20, 1976; four brothers, George, Harry and John Thomas and David Thomas, who died as an infant; and four sisters, Bessie Shaffer, Anna Carrozza, Clara “Honey” Ulakovich and Sara Long; along with her loving cat, Sam. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, with the Rev.
