Phil was a retired machinist from Corning Glass in Charleroi, where he had 31 years of service and was a union president and grievance man. Phil was known for his ability to fix or build just about anything and was an active sportsman his entire life. He was always fishing and hunting. Phil was a well-known trap shooter in Western Pennsylvania and was still actively trap shooting past his 89th birthday. Phil was preceded in death by an infant son, Phillip Anthony; his parents, Anthony and Rose Lopresti; sisters, Jenny Lopresti and Jay Lopresti (Drury); and brother, Sam Lopresti. He is survived by his wife, Frances Lopresti; daughters, Marse Lopresti-Hammond (Mark), Lori Lopresti-Morrow (Doug); grandkids, Nate, Ben and Riley; sons, Phillip Lopresti (Jennifer) and Frank Lopresti (Holly); and grandkids, Gabby, Flip and A.J. Phil was a member of the Rostraver Sportsman Club, the Charleroi Sportsman Club, Star Junction Fish and Game Club, Monessen VFW, Charleroi American Legion, Corning Retirees, a lifetime firefighter with Monessen Hilltop No. 2 and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord Church of Monessen with Father Michael Crookston officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery of Monessen. Online condolences may be conveyed to the Lopresti family at www.rhomefuneralhome.com.
