The 2020-21 edition of the Mon Valley Independent-BeeGraphix Super 6 all-star teams were headlined by a pair of playmaking guards on the boys and girls side.

Belle Vernon Area junior Devin Whitlock was named boys player of the year, while Thomas Jefferson junior Graci Fairman earned girls player of the year honors. Both were additionally selected as first-team picks for the Super 6 all-star squads.

Whitlock was arguably one of the top guards in the WPIAL this past winter. He averaged 21.9 points per game in 15 games and helped lead Belle Vernon Area to a Section 3-4A championship and an appearance in the WPIAL semifinals.

But Whitlock wasn’t just the Leopards’ leading scorer. He also averaged five assists, five steals and three rebounds per contest, proving to be more than just a one-trick offensive asset.

Whitlock finished the year with 329 total points. He now has 1,373 points in his career.

Fairman was a veteran leader and the leading scorer for a young Thomas Jefferson team.

She averaged 15 points per game and was one just two starters who returned from last year’s WPIAL and PIAA playoff team.

Under Fairman’s leadership at the guard position, the Jaguars won 12 games and advanced to the WPIAL Class 5A quarterfinals.
