Josephine F. Rogers, 89, of Monongahela, died Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born March 16, 1932, in Carroll Township, the daughter of Arturo and Amabile “Mabel” Niccolai Bucchianeri. Josephine was a member of First United Methodist Church of Monongahela, where she volunteered at many church functions. She loved to bake and was famous for her fried chicken, raviolis and lady locks. She had a green thumb and could grow anything. Josephine loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed going to Kennedy Space Center, Disney World and the beach. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jo O’Brien of Monongahela, and Cathy Kash and husband David of Winter Garden, Fla.; four grandchildren, Sean O’Brien and wife Sarah, Jennifer Mellinger and fiancé Matthew Sigler, Betsy Kash, and Christopher Kash and fiancée Caitlin McBride; and three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Carly Mellinger and Maria O’Brien. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Rogers, who died Oct. 24, 2008; and three brothers, James, Peno and Mike Bucchianeri. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, with Pastor Matthew F. Sigler officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In order to be compliant with our state guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, masks MUST be worn and social distancing maintained.
