White Oak council talked at last week’s meeting about several events taking place as the weather warms up.

Aside from announcing Heritage Hill Pool is expected to open on Memorial Day and that residential and non-residential season passes and monthly passes are being sold, council announced details about an Easter egg hunt that will be held Easter weekend and the annual spring community clean-up day.

Councilwoman Julie Opferman announced the borough Easter egg hunt is slated to be held at Heritage Hill Park on April 3, which is the day before the holiday.

Opferman said social distancing and mask-wearing requirements will be in place, and children must bring their own basket. Children ages 3 and younger are not required to wear masks.

To ensure social distancing, an egg hunt for youngsters 3 and younger will begin at 10 a.m. near the Heritage Hill Playground. At 10:20 a.m., kids ages 4 to 7 will take to the lower field on their hunt for Easter eggs. Youths ages 8 to 10 will take to the upper field at 10:40 a.m. in their pursuit of the traditional holiday favors.

An announcement on the borough website states that children will be able to visit with “the COVID-vaccinated Easter Bunny.”
