Monongahela council approved two motions last week concerning the Mid Mon Valley Transit Authority.

At Wednesday’s meeting, council members unanimously approved the 2021 transit authority local match of $6,263. The money matches state funds and will be used for operating and financial assistance.

The funds will be submitted no later than the end of the state’s fiscal next year on June 30, 2022.

Council also approved a contract extension with the MMVTA that will see the authority provide maintenance and cleaning of two bus shelters located in the city.

The shelters are located at Sheetz on East Main Street and the Monongahela Public Library on West Main Street.

The extension will continue the original 2004 contract indefinitely.
