Rosemary Pileggi Catonsville, Md., – formerly of Monongahela

Rosemary Pileggi, 92, of Catonsville, Md., formerly of Monongahela, died Monday, March 1, 2021, in St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Catonsville, Md. Born Jan. 3, 1929 in Cokeburg, she was the daughter of Giovanni and Ida Prazzo Ciuca. A 1947 graduate of the former Donora High School, for more than 40 years Rosemary was a self-employed seamstress until her retirement in 2001. Before moving to Maryland, she was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church (St. Andrew the Apostle Parish) in Monongahela, where she had belonged to the Altar Rosary Christian Mother Society. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in- law, Joseph and Dana Pileggi of Winter Garden, Fla., and Anthony and Sara Pileggi of Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Celeste Pileggi of Bentleyville; a brother, Dominick and wife Nelda Ruscitti of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Savisky and husband Lew of Mooresville, N.C., and Barbara Ciuca of Wooster, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Michael Joseph, Amanda, Michael Jeffrey, David, Sophia (Ismael Lopez), Matthew, Seth, Mark (Ann) and Dominic (Emma); her great-granddaughter; Lydia; and many precious nieces and nephews and her extended family at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home. Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Pileggi, who died April 7, 2006 and a brother Celestino “Chooch” Ciuca. Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, March 4, at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, 722 West Main St., Monongahela, at which time a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, is in charge of the arrangements.
