Brison Kisan shined bright on senior night, scoring 31 points as McKeesport rolled to a 71-34 victory over Kiski Area in WPIAL Class 5A boys basketball at Neenie Campbell Gymnasium Monday night.

Kisan’s 31-point performance led all scorers and was a special night in the high school career of a senior likely bound for the college court at some level, on his way to a future career as a dentist.

“I haven’t seen anyone at the high school level or AAU who can stop him from getting to the basket,” said Tigers head coach Kevin Kovach.

“He’s a division one basketball player, there isn’t a doubt in my mind. He’s a leader, he wanted to get other guys, especially seniors involved.”

Seniors got the starting nod and solid playing time on this senior recognition night, all but Rasinity Robinson who is out with an injury. Kisan, joined by Colton Kovach, Robert Robinson and Preston Atkinson, all put points on the board. Devin Lawrence was also able to play on his senior night, his first game back after being in an automobile accident.

The teams traded shots, mostly threes, in the early going. Robert Robinson knocked down three shots from behind the arc in the first quarter and would finish in double-digits with 11 points on the night.

McKeesport used a 10-0 run late in the first to start to pull away from Kiski for good. The run started with a Robinson three, before Kisan drilled a three. Travarese Rowe came flying in for a dunk, and another Kisan score came off a turnover, helping the Tigers to a 20-15 lead at the end of the first.

Kiski scored just seven points in the second quarter, while the Tigers nailed 3-pointer after 3-pointer, Kahreke Andrews draining a pair along with Kisan, who finished the first half with 16 points.

“I scored 15 points in the fourth quarter the last two games and coach has been telling me I need to shoot more, so I did that tonight and it was working for me,” said Kisan, who has looks from all collegiate levels including a walk-on offer from Division I Robert Morris.
