William E. ‘Bill’ Hawk- Belle Vernon

William E. “Bill” Hawk, 67, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital. A son of the late William C. and Ida Virginia Forsythe Hawk, he was born in Greensburg on April 14, 1953. A resident of Belle Vernon most of his adult life, Bill was a member of West Alexander First Presbyterian Church and the Marianna Sportsmen’s Club. He had been employed at Willowbrook and Cedarbrook golf courses for 27 years as a greenskeeper and “jack of all trades.” He was a big fan at Trenton’s hockey games and attended all his practices, and loved fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Debra Van Breman Hawk; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and April Hawk of Monessen and Ryan and Crystal Hawk of Burlington, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Trenton, Kai, Shaelee, Reece, Avaree, Rachael and Jackson Hawk; two sisters, Donna Hatalowich of Fayette City and Cindy Hawk of Arnold City; a brother-in-law, Robert Waggett of Belle Vernon; numerous nieces and nephews; and his companion, Max. He is also survived by Emilee Hawk and Erin Hawk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jeannie Waggett; and a niece, Lisa Weston. Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tim Florence officiating. Face masks are required in the funeral home.
