SiLK9 ready to make music

The members of local rock band SiLK9 are glad 2020 is over.

To prove their mettle, the band is scheduled to release its first single of the new year, “Tear Me Down,” on Jan. 21.

SiLK9 bassist and 1988 Ringgold High School graduate Jim “Jazz” Byers said the song is a statement on 2020.

“You can tear me down but I’m still standing is basically the gist of the song,” Byers said. “I guess it’s the theme song for everybody. It’s based on the frustrations of 2020.”
