Rostraver Township has been assured by Westmoreland County officials the check is in the mail.
Commission Chairman John Lorenzo said the township will be receiving a check for $30,000 from Westmoreland County for COVID relief.
“That was the maximum allowance for any municipality. We are one of only 17 municipalities to get COVID relief money out of about 65 in Westmoreland County. Some didn’t do emergency declarations and were disqualified,” Lorenzo said during the commissioners’ work session Wednesday evening.
As of November, township Manager Jeff Keffer said $38,000 has been spent on personal protection equipment and COVID-related cleaning supplies.
