Virginia M. Mauro Quattro, 96 years young, passed away Monday, Dec. 7, 2020 in Monongahela Valley Hos-pital. She was born Aug. 14, 1924, in Hutchison, W. Va., daughter of the late Guiseppe and Vincenza Nucci Mauro. A devout Catholic, Mrs. Quattro had been a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen and served with the Rosary Alter Society, the Italian Heritage and card club. She had an open heart and her home was always open for those who enjoyed her cooking and baking, especially her bread and pizza shells. She had worked at Trilli’s Pizza Shop and Corning Glass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh S. Quattro; and 11 siblings. She was the last surviving member and matriarch of her family. Surviving are her children, Judy Suppo (Dale) of Donora, James F. Quattro (Cathy) of Monessen and Jerry Quattro (Pam) of Monessen; grandchildren, Buster Suppo (Jennifer), Jill Marie Suppo, James F. Quattro Jr. (Lisa), Jeremy Quattro (Randi), Kimberly Shrader (Shane) and Jerry Quattro (Amee); great-grandchildren, Lauren and Rebecca Suppo, Jeremiah and Noah Quattro, Dylan Michael Quattro and Alexa Quattro. Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen. A blessing service will be held Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, Monessen. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mon Valley Care Center Activities, care of Kelly Newcomer. The family would like to thank the Mon Valley Care Center admissions and staff for their love and compassion. All visitors to the funeral home are required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing with a capacity of 25 people at a time. Online condolences can be made to rhomefuneralhome@verizon.net.
