James R. Glass, 87, of Webster, died Dec. 4, 2020. Born in Donora on Feb. 26, 1933, he was the son of the late Ralph E. and Susan E. Timko Glass. Jim worked at Carnegie Science Center in Pittsburgh for 38 years; he was passionate about building the miniature train at Buhl Planetarium.  He loved astronomy, sports and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was very dedicated to taking care of his wife, Irene. He is survived by his wife, Irene E. (Pakish) Glass; sons, Robert (Nancy) Glass of Rostraver and David Glass (Tracy Toplonak) of Monongahela; daughter, Denise (Brian) Beckinger of Fayette City; grandchildren, Natalie Podkul, Danielle Giannini, Chad Ebbitt, Michael Ebbitt, Ryan Kandsberger and Brandon Glass; great-grandchildren, Domenick, Gianna, Mark, Spencer Teagan, Gavin and Rylee; siblings, Lois Vitale of Rostraver, Clifford Glass of Quakertown, Pa., and Shirley (Herman) Blick of The Villages, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Glass. Friends were received Monday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Donald Glunt officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Carnegie Science Center, 1 Allegheny Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15221, or to the American Cancer Society.
