Rev. Robert McKinley Ingland Jr. – Monongahela

By obits

Rev. Robert McKinley Ingland Jr., 91, of Monongahela, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Nov. 30, 2020. He was born in Charleroi, on Feb. 4, 1929, to Robert and Violet Lewis Ingland Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, the Rev. Wilma Jean Ingland and his wife, Grace Collins Ingland. Bob is survived by his three children; daughter, Cathy McGee (Cornell); son, Robert Ingland (Lois); and daughter, Amy Steward (John); nine grandchildren, Molly Vidovich (Justin), Annie McGee, Chip McGee (Sarah), Jessica Joyner (Daniel), Kelly Brock (Josh), Chelsea Smiley (Steven), Mac Ingland (Catie), Mandi Bankston and Jake Steward; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, Donna Dobrinski, Linda Zeh; and nephew, David Doty. Bob Ingland received his education in the public school system in Charleroi and graduated from the Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass., with a degree in theology. He was ordained as a pastor in 1954. Bob pastored many churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland for The Church of the Nazarene throughout his long career. Bob also served on many advisory boards and councils for the Church of the Nazarene as well as numerous community and civic boards. He loved the Lord more than anything in this world and spent his entire life telling others about God’s love. He was a true pastor to everyone he met. His life was a true example of Christianity and his family will miss him dearly. Portrayal of a modern-day Pastor, our Dad, Robert M. Ingland Jr. : Since the ordained Minister must be all things to all men, so is this minister of the modern-day. He is well educated, holds a college degree and has training in business administration as well as theology. His spirit, consecration and attitude toward mankind is that of the Good Shepherd. Through the Word of God, he feeds his flock spiritually and provides physical means of food and warmth for the poor. This shepherd cares for the needy, the sick, the handicapped and the forgotten people who no longer are in the mainstream of life. In as much as the shepherd is protective of his flock, so this minister is of his people. His optimism is an oasis in the desert to the depressed and down trodden. He is well posed and his appearance is immaculate. He walks with dignity and the self-assurance that he is in the center of the will of God. With God first, others second and himself last, he lives the golden rule every day. From God’s word he preaches the unshakable truths and standards of holy living, yet he never expects more out of his people than he lives himself. He lives by his motto: “To serve this present age, my calling is to fulfill, oh may it all my powers engage, to do my Master’s will.” Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, in Monongahela Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
