An investigation into the disappearance of a 15-year-old Jefferson Hills resident continues.
Jeno Maretti was reported missing at the beginning of the week. After a report that he was seen on the Elizabeth Bridge, crews launched an exhaustive search of the river and riverbanks Tuesday and Wednesday. According to Elizabeth Borough fire Chief Chad Rager, the crews logged 27 hours of searching in a 48-hour period.
Participating in the search were Elizabeth Borough Public Works, the Pennsylvania State Police helicopter unit Trooper 5, Jefferson Hills Police, Glassport VFD, Dravosburg VFD, West Elizabeth VFD, Crescent Township (Beaver) divers, Circleville VFD, Munhall VFD, which provided a warming station, Murrysville Divers Team 601, Nickolich Towing, which also provided an emergency response, Blawnox VFD and its sonar technicians, Jefferson VFD including Floreffe, Allegheny County Emergency Services and 911, Collinsburg VFD, Donora VFD, Greensburg VFD Divers, Monroeville Dive team, Buena Vista VFC, and SouthEast Regional EMS.
The Salvation Army also provided services throughout the search and Rager said numerous local businesses showed up unsolicited with food and refreshments.
“(N)ourishment was the last thing on our minds but greatly appreciated,” Rager said in a Facebook post.
