Mark O’Lexa – New Eagle

Mark O’Lexa, 52, of New Eagle, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020. Born Nov. 17, 1968, in New Eagle, he is the son of Patricia Behanna VanKirk of Finleyville and the late Ronald O’Lexa Sr. Mark was a 1988 graduate of Ringgold High School and worked in construction most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and throwing horseshoes. He was a wonderful handyman, always assisting others in need. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Ronald O’Lexa Jr. of Greensburg; two sisters, Kim and husband Frank Guarinoni of Monongahela and Sherry and husband Dan Biles of Finleyville; a nephew, eight nieces and several aunts and uncles. Preceding him in death was his stepfather, Robert VanKirk. Friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com. Anyone wishing to attend the funeral beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, is asked to go directly to Mt. Zion Cemetery in Ginger Hill for graveside prayers with the Rev. Josh Green officiating. Guests are asked to please wear face masks and abide by personal protective guidelines and social distancing.
