Donora mayor cited for disorderly conduct

Donora Mayor Jim McDonough has been cited by police for disorderly conduct.

A non-traffic citation was filed Saturday against McDonough, 48, relating to an incident at the borough garage on Galiffa Drive.

According to a complaint, Officer Zachery Powell was called to the garage around 8 a.m. by public works director Michael Petrosky.

Petrosky told police McDonough was yelling at Dean Fronzaglio about an incident that happened Thursday.

Powell arrived at the scene and called Superintendent Jim Brice to inform him of the incident.

According to the complaint, Brice told Powell to remove the mayor from the garage area because borough policy only permits authorized individuals to be there.

McDonough told Powell he went to the borough garage as a concerned citizen and not the mayor, and was asking Fronzaglio to apologize to his wife for a prior incident.

According to the complaint, McDonough admits he “got loud” but was not vulgar or threatening toward Fronzaglio.

“I told (McDonough) that I understand his concern, but he is not to return to the garage,” Powell wrote. “I also told McDonough that I need to conduct an investigation to the incident and speak with the other party. (McDonough) told me that was fine and if there needs to be citations involved he understands and then left.”

Fronzaglio told Powell there was a loud knock at the door and McDonough was on the other side yelling.

When the door was opened, McDonough entered the garage and was face to face with Fronzaglio while the verbal argument continued, police said.
