Albert S. Granato – Coal Center

Albert S. Granato, 88, of Coal Center, Long Branch, passed away Sunday, Sept. 13, 2020, at Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born Feb. 2, 1932, in Donora, he was the son of the late Albert F. and Alma Linoman Granato. A resident of Coal Center for the past 45 years, Mr. Granato attended the H.O.P.E. Center Church in Lynnwood, was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Unemployment, where he was an adjustor, was a veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed camping in the mountains. He is survived by his wife, Joanna Smichnick Granato, with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in December 2020; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Cindy Granato of Long Branch; two grandchildren, Brandon Granato and wife Megan, and Natalie Granato; brother and sister-in-law, David and Shirley Granato of Long Branch; sister, Shelia Sakalik of Rostraver Township; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Granato; and two sisters, Alma Jean Ramsdell and Naoni Butchko. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC with Pastor Albert Bashur officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Keeping in compliance with the county and state mandates, guests are asked to please abide by personal protective guidelines, masks MUST be worn and social distancing must still be maintained. Please minimize your visit to allow other family and friends to pay their respects to the family as we are still limited to 25 guests in the funeral home at a given time.
