Marie R. LaMendola, 98, of Donora, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Cambridge Creek-side Senior Living, in Charleroi. Born in Monongahela on July 14, 1922, Marie was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Yager Rocco. A longtime resident of Donora, Marie was a caring and loving individual who was always willing to give of herself to help others. Marie was the office manager for Dr. Ronald V. Pellegrini for 25 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. LaMendola, on June 6, 2009; a grandson, Dominic LaMendola; a great-grandson, Parker E. LaMendola; a brother, Pete Rocco; three sisters, Norma Pelligrini Spence, Olive George and Gloria Iannone; and a dear friend, Gregory Comiskey. Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Clark (Ellen) LaMendola of New Jersey, Walter (Nancy) LaMendola of Colorado and Edward (Patricia) LaMendola of Florida; grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Daniel, Jacob, Benjamin, Julie, Teresa and Gregory; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Rocco of Rostraver Township and John Jack Rocco of New Eagle; one sister, Joan Necciai of Carroll Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. Due to the pandemic, a memorial Mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish Donora Campus and interment at St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township, will be scheduled at a later date.
