Community Bank in Monessen to close

Community Bank will no longer have a branch office in Monessen.
President and Chief Executive Officer Barron P. McCune Jr. announced plans to consolidate its Monessen branch, located at 565 Donner Ave., with its nearby branch office at 1670 Broad Ave., Rostraver Township.
The company will also consolidate its branch office at 1090 East Bethlehem Blvd., Wheeling, W.Va., with its Woodsdale branch office at 875 National Road in Wheeling.
The planned consolidation date is Sept. 30.
After that takes place, the Monessen and Bethlehem locations will not operate as branch offices.
McCune said the decision was made because the branches are located so close to each other.
“The decision to consolidate our Monessen and Bethlehem branches followed a thorough review of our operations and is based primarily on the close proximity to other Community Bank branches,” McCune said.
